AppSearch Pro Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 28, 2026
AppSearch Pro helps users find and launch installed apps using simple keywords, categories, voice search, widgets, and optional personalized mappings. This privacy policy explains what information the app uses and how it is handled.
Information We Collect and Use
Installed App Information
AppSearch Pro reads basic information about apps installed on your device, such as app name, package name, app icon, developer/publisher information when available, and app version. This information is used to provide local app search, category matching, keyword mapping, widget shortcuts, and app launch suggestions.
If you enable app metadata enhancement, AppSearch Pro may send installed launcher app package names to our backend so we can look up public app metadata, such as Play Store title, category, developer, and description, when available. This is used to improve local search categories, aliases, and app suggestions. We do not sell installed app information or use it for advertising.
Search and Launch Activity
The app may store search keywords, selected apps, launch counts, result ordering preferences, dismissed suggestions, and custom keyword mappings on your device. This helps improve local ranking, show frequently used apps higher, and remember your personal mappings.
If anonymous learning is enabled, limited search and selection signals may be synced to our backend to improve global and regional keyword mappings. These learning signals are designed to be aggregated and are used to improve search relevance for future users.
Microphone Permission
AppSearch Pro requests the RECORD_AUDIO permission only to support voice search. Voice input is used to convert your speech into a search query. The app does not use the microphone in the background and does not record audio for advertising.
Region and Coarse Location
The app may ask for or use country, region, and coarse locality information to improve region-aware app suggestions and keyword mappings. Exact GPS location is not required for the core app search experience.
Timezone Lookup
If you use the timezone widget feature, the selected country and place may be used to find a matching timezone. This may involve a network lookup to a public timezone or location lookup service. The selected timezone setting is stored so the widget can display the chosen region's time.
Analytics and Crash Reports
AppSearch Pro may use analytics and crash reporting tools, including Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, to understand app stability, diagnose crashes, and improve the product. Crash reports may include device model, operating system version, app version, crash logs, and basic diagnostic information.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide app search, category matching, and app launching.
- Support voice search and widget shortcuts.
- Remember custom keyword mappings and result ordering.
- Improve search relevance using anonymous and aggregated learning signals.
- Provide region-aware recommendations and mappings.
- Diagnose crashes, ANRs, and performance issues.
- Maintain and improve the app and backend catalog.
Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be processed by service providers used for app functionality, analytics, crash reporting, backend sync, hosting, or timezone lookup. Data synced for learning is intended to improve the AppSearch Pro catalog and search relevance.
User Controls
Users can:
- Disable anonymous learning from the app settings.
- Clear stored learning data from the app settings.
- Edit or remove custom keyword mappings.
- Change region settings used for region-aware results.
- Deny microphone permission and continue using typed search.
- Disable app metadata enhancement from Settings where available.
- Remove widgets from the device home screen using the launcher widget controls.
Data Retention
Local app data remains on the device unless removed by the user, cleared from settings, or deleted by uninstalling the app. Backend learning data may be retained in aggregated form to improve the catalog and search relevance.
Children's Privacy
AppSearch Pro is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to reduce risk and limit collected data to what is useful for app functionality and improvement.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy as AppSearch Pro evolves. When changes are made, the effective date will be updated.
